Character Name: Felix
Canon: Red vs Blue
Canon Point: end of season 12
Background/History: wiki page
Personality: Felix is an excellent actor. This isn't a unique skill on it's own, but the way he uses it is unusual. He acts while purposely not telling them he is acting. Felix is an excellent actor because he can effortlessly lie to people's faces with no guilt on his part. He almost seems to regard it exactly as acting, gleefully referring to a fabricated story he told to the new republic forces to convince them to attach the capital as "the performance of a lifetime," and that "they just ate it up." Rather than guilt, Felix feels pride when he successfully deceives people.

Though it might seem from this that Felix enjoys the act of lying to others, it isn't quite that so much as to Felix, winning and being in control is the most important thing there is. He makes clear that his guiding philosophy in life is that "at the end of the day, if I'm stronger than you and if I'm faster than you, then I can kill you," and that this fact is "better than anything money can buy." Which drives home how important this is to him as up until that point Felix's primary motivation is clearly money. He's willing to do whatever it takes as long as he gets paid, and states that when he retires he wants to have enough money to buy "a TV the size of a billboard." but even more than money, Felix has an almost compulsive need to be in control. So he manipulates people with his lies. He monopolizes conversations with his monologues. He works as a mercenary, meaning he takes jobs on his own terms. When he loses, he becomes absolutely furious. Felix is as self-centered as they come.

Since he is, by nature, only out for himself, Felix can often seem callous with regards to other people. Even before his grand deception was revealed, he did not hide the fact that he was only helping the new republic for the money, and even remarks after a mission that the intel they received at the cost of two men's lives was "a pretty damn good trade." Felix's lack of concern for others borders on sociopathic, as Felix willingly took on his current job to wipe out all the residents of Chorus, casually remarking that he would have just nuked Chorus from orbit if it were up to him. On a more positive note, Felix's self-involved nature gives him heaps of confidence. While this does sometimes backfire on him, he would not be nearly as good at his job as he is without his boundless conviction that he is always right and "fucking awesome" and possibly even "too good looking." He's good at his job and he knows it.

While still pretending to be on the side of the New Republic, Felix maintains a reserved but snarky personality. Both in and out of his "character" Felix demonstrates a clear sense of humor as soon as he appears in the series, remarking when Wash agrees that it's strange how Locus goes by the name of his armor; "Oh, are you first name "Agent" last name "Washington"? That's so weird!" and making sound effects when he demonstrates his light shield. Even with this, he still maintains a "cool aloof" personality for the most part, but when he reveals his true colors, Felix is shown to have an almost manic energy, he becomes much more talkative, moving around and gesturing with his hands as he talks. When not playing his role, Felix loves to talk. It's his natural inclination towards gloating that ruin all the work he's done over the past two years.

That said, Felix isn't an idiot, he's highly trained and skilled in combat. He notices Carolina camouflaged among their men before Locus does, and thwarts the sim trooper's attempt at a surprise attack before they can even launch it. He knows what to say to people to convince them to act and how to win people's trust. He may not care about anyone besides himself, but that doesn't mean he doesn't understand them. He can read people well, he's hard on Tucker because even though he doesn't care about losing men, he knows Tucker does, as he tells him. Despite his entirely selfish motives, Felix does have charisma, and he knows how to use it to his advantage. But when he succeeds, he gets complacent and over-confident, and it's then that he'll make his mistakes.

Abilities/Powers:

-military combat training/experience: Felix is an ex-soldier, allegedly having fought in one of the worst battle in UNSC history during the Great War. He has demonstrated proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, firearms, and explosives. His melee weapon of choice is a combat knife, and he has shown to also be able to use it effectively as a projectile weapon. Felix consistently displays quick-thinking, sharp reflexes and resourcefulness during battle, even able to catch a live grenade out of the air and count off exactly the right amount of time to throw it back to explode on its original user.

-social skills: Felix is a highly charismatic person, he knows how to act in order to win and maintain people’s trust while disguising his own motives. He and his partner had covertly been working together for 2 years on opposite sides of the Chorus Civil war without anyone suspecting anything, and he quickly won the trust of the Blood Gulch soldiers despite his supposedly somewhat “harsh” personality.

Items/Weapons: handgun, combat knife, hard-light shield
